Best Sites For Xbox 360 Cheats

June 25, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Not everybody is a hardcore gamer. Not all gamers wish to spend numerous hours each day in front of their Xbox 360 just to finish games, unlock achievements, play multi player matches, and brag about game stats. Also, finishing a game once means opening up extra features or levels, and players may wish to speed through a second sitting to get to the good stuff by using cheats.

Most Microsoft games have Xbox 360 cheats. A majority of them were purposely implemented by the designers themselves to give gamers the option to take the simpler, even though less rewarding, way. Basically, these so-called "Xbox 360 cheats" were placed in games to help developers test out the title during development. It'll be quite difficult looking for bugs while juggling 3 lives and no 1ups, after all.

There are a lot of places on the web where you can find Xbox 360 cheats for the titles you own. Here are four of the most popular internet sites devoted to hosting Xbox 360 cheats:

1. GameFaqs.com. If folk want cheats and codes - including Xbox 360 cheats and codes - they usually come to GameFaqs.com. GameFaqs is a part of the highly popular video gaming website, GameSpot.com. It's a place where gamers themselves can submit FAQs and Walkthroughs of their favourite games. A number of these documents are very masterfully made. Xbox 360 cheats and codes are also accepted, and are hosted in a special category within the website.

2. CheatCC.com. CheatCC is the second most popular destination for people who are looking for Xbox 360 cheats. Its database is just as complete as GameFaqs'. However, what makes CheatCC a 2nd placer in numerous books is its shortage of a sense of community amongst its members, something which GameFaqs has attempted to build - successfully at that - throughout the years.

3. Gamewinners.com. The same gamers who make guides for diverse titles often submit their works to either GameFaqs, CheatCC, Gamewinners, or all 3 of them. So it shouldn't be surprising to find the same level of comprehensiveness in all three internet sites when it comes to Xbox 360 cheats.

4. Cheats.IGN.com. IGN.com is one of the web's largest computer gaming websites. In reality, across the years, IGN has become an authority site, quoted by many outlets instead of quoting from many sources. IGN.com has dozens of categories in its pages, among them is a cheats office, and within this department is an area solely devoted to Xbox 360 cheats.

Three Family and Kid Friendly Xbox 360 Games

June 13, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

The Xbox 360 console can have a reputation for it's violent and mature games, but the reality is that there are masses of kid friendly titles available for the system. These types of games have not only been produced and provided by third party developers, like Traveller's Tales, but also by second party developers like Rare, who are being backed by Microsoft. It's pretty clear that Microsoft wants it to be clear that the Xbox 360 is intended for all audiences.

Lego Indiana Jones: is an adventure/puzzle game in the vein of Lego Star Wars and Lego Batman. While all three Lego games are above average, Lego Indiana Jones manages to be much more, due to it's satisfying combat and reasonably logical puzzles. One thing that makes the Lego games so accessible as a whole is it's drop in/drop out co-op multi-player gameplay. One individual can always play alone, in which case AI will take over control of the second personality. But at any point a 2nd player can come along, press start on the second controller, and "drop in", taking control of the second character. Lego Indiana Jones is a cute and charming game, yet it's also a particularly intellectual one, in it's own way.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts: While the franchise has always been pretty unusual ( after all, it's about a bear named Banjo and a rooster named Kazooie who travel together ), Nuts & Bolts takes things further with a mad vehicle creation mechanic. The objective is to go the length of 6 worlds in an effort to get the deed to Spiral Mountain, but the story takes second seat to the gameplay. Along Banjo's journey he acquires a currency called Bolts by completing challenges, and he will then use the Bolts to build all sorts of autos, both land and air. Experimentation is rewarded with some truly cool and weird looking automobiles with which you can traverse the world. This provides great replay factor and is perfect for your Xbox-mad kids!

Viva Pinata : Trouble in Paradise : If you are into the Xbox 360 at all we'd be very surprised if you have not at least heard of Viva Pinata, a Virtual Life franchise Rare has been developing iterations of for years now. A gardener of what, you ask? Pinatas. That is right ; didn't you know that pinatas have to be cultivated and grown? As you are given a little plot of land, you need to it in a way which will attract will pinatas. Sometimes you need to produce a certain flower, or plant. But the needs for the chance of certain pinatas appearing grows larger and more complex over a period. While it's correct that kid's may wish to dedicate more time to this than some other games, it's a sort of game that adults can take part in just as well as children can, revealing why it's growing in popularity so much.

These three titles are just an example of a whole range of family friendly Xbox 360 games, keep your eyes open for many more to come!

Top Xbox 360 games of 2009

May 26, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

The Xbox 360 is still arguably the most popular next gen console out there, mainly due to an impressive array of exclusive titles found only on that console, and Microsoft's ability to flash enough cash to buy titles previously exclusive to other systems, such as Final Fantasy. With this dominant approach, the Xbox 360 continues to offer a range of great games. Nearly halfway through the year, we list the three most impressive games to emerge on the system thus far;

#3: The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena

We covered this game in an earlier preview, and Dark Athena is certainly enjoying the praise it deserves. Not only a sequel but also more of an expansion, this title features a port of the original Butcher Bay Riddick game, adding new content and a multiplayer option that the fans were crying out for. This game is undoubtedly one of the best movie-based games ever released.

#2: Halo Wars

Probably one of the most well loved gaming franchises in the world, Halo continues to dominate even as the developers, Bungie, break into new ground. Halo wars is the first game in the franchise to break away from the First person Shooter genre, instead playing as a real time strategy game. It's art style is unique, combat is intriguingly diverse, and it's singleplayer campaign should be pretty interesting as well for fans of the series looking for answers. This expands the Halo universe even further and is a must have for fans of the series.

#1: Star Ocean: The Last Hope

Serving as a prequel to the wildly popular Star Ocean franchise, The Last Hope was eagerly anticipated by fans the world over. From developers Square Enix, this title was always going to be a deep, emotional and gorgeous game to play. Bringing the entire galaxy to bear in an adventure which will pit your RPG skills against a host of galactic enemies, Star Ocean: The Last Hope does everything you'd expect from a Square Enix game, and does it with style and beauty.

Ninja Blade

May 13, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

At various gaming conferences last year, a new action/exploration game was unveiled entitled Ninja Blade. After a few rounds of demonstrative gameplay, the word on many people's lips was that this game borrowed a little bit too much from its similarly monikered rival, Ninja Gaiden. Viewers believed that Ninja Blade was looking to be little better than a rip off of the widely successful Gaiden, but we're here to fight the corner of this new game, and bring you a few reasons why Ninja Blade should be a title to look out for.

Ninja Blade asserts its frantic and exciting action style early on, with an opening sequence which sees the main character plummeting through the sky combating various deamons through use of in-sequence button prompts. These interactive cinematic sequences have become a common feature within many games recently, and finds a great way to combine stunning visual sequences with actual gameplay. From the outset, Ninja Blade hurls you into a fast paced action game that barely relents.

Ninja Blade also deviates from Gaiden's style in that the gameplay is much more reminiscent of Devil May Cry, focusing on multiple weapons to allow for a varied and fast paced emphasis on combos. As the missions begin, the main character is equipped with three weapons. Firstly, we have a lean sword used for well balanced attacks. There are also two shorter blades which are dual wielded in order to allow for fast paced combos. Lastly, there is a huge double handed blade which loses out on speed, but makes up for this with brute force.

The most attractive function of Ninja Blade is the mechanic named 'Ninja Vision', which can be activated at any time to take advantage of your mystical training. Ninja Vision allows time to slow to an extent, allowing you to dodge attacks and escape or position yourself easier. Also, as the screen dims to a deep red, weaknesses in your opponents armour or body will become pronounced, guiding you to the best area to strike. This is a great addtion which creates a great contextual feel within the game.

So there you have just a few reasons why Ninja Blade will be worth a look on the Xbox 360. Sure, it's being released in the wake of probably the most successful Ninja gaming franchise ever, but that's no reason to dismiss this game from the offset, because from what we've seen so far this game should be pretty damn good.

Section 8 Coming to Xbox 360 and PC

April 24, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

The first person shooter genre is crowded with a range of well respected and successfully noted games, so it's difficult for newcomers to mark a mark on the medium unless they offer somthing but impressive and different enough to warrant the attention of gamers. Developer Timegate is best known for their work on the hit Kohan strategy series, the Axis & Allies translation from board to videogame, and recently the Fear expansion Extraction Point. A predominance for work in the strategy genre arena makes their latest offerings in FPS a welcome and interesting diversion.

The titular Section 8 is a government owned branch dedicated to combating any interstellar threat posed to humanity. Armed and armoured to the hightest degree of technological offering, Section 8 are the best line of defence, with suits which augment their already vastly honed bodies and skills, enabling them to perform martial feats normally beyond that of a normal soldier.

So far, this isn't sounding terribly original, but early trailers and previews reveal that Section 8 is looking to be a very intelligent and story-driven game. But what you don't get to know in the trailers is exactly what the gameplay itself is like, though there are hints; such as some intense action, including the main character and his squad performing a routine plummet from a ship orbiting the earth, spinning through the air, and landing neatly on the planet's surface. This is called "burning in". This is actually manifested in game terms, allowing the player to designate an intended landing spot before the level begins, and taking an extent of control in what manner their character falls through the air and lands. This isn't just a gimmick, as the landing areas have varying strategic bonuses and threats, such as anti-personell guns and entrenchments.

Alongside the intense and immersive story mode, Section 8 is set to push further that most important aspect of the FPS: the online multiplayer mode. Mixing features previously seen in Battlefield 2142 and Renegade, expect player classes, experience points, money to earn and control points. As in single player mode, the burning in feature will be employed in multiplayer, adding a whole new level of strategy to the proceedings. From here different areas of the battlefield will be contested, and the myriad possibilites of deployment, assualt and defence will be used to the best degree.

Coming to the Xbox 360 and PC this Autumn, Section 8 is shaping up to be a title definitely worth a look.

Games for your 360

March 13, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Looking back, 2008 had many great Xbox 360 games, from Gears of War 2 to Banjo-Kazooie to Braid. The flood of good games continues, here are two great games that are already out for the Xbox 360 and one well worth waiting for.

X-Blades

51DXKoxiu%2BL. SL75 Games for your 360

Game developer, Gaijin, has been working on an anime-style action title for some time now. The game is called X Blades and stars tenacious treasure hunter Ayumi. Ayumi is an extremely powerful fighter with swords, guns, and magic all at her immediate disposal.

The story follows Ayumi as she attempts to find the ultimate artifact, whilst being under a deadly curse.

Gameplay sections are split up into what are called Dungeons. It's much like a role-playing game. As you kill enemies, you collect experience points and must decide which items, spells and/or gun and swords upgrades to spend them on. Guns, swords, and magic are all mapped to their own button, providing much potential for successful attack patterns and combinations, as each enemy has it's own weakness.

X-Blades provides fast and addictive action intertwined with an intriguing story. X-Blades is out now, so if you haven't got it grab it now!

Halo Wars

51PHbJg8WRL. SL75 Games for your 360

The Halo franchise goes from fantastic shoot 'em up to masterful strategy game. Who would of known?

Halo Wars had been in development cycle for many years, and Ensemble Studio has create a game that is breath-taking. It is real-time strategy game based on races, federations and locations from the original Halo games, yet taking place 20 years before the events in Halo: Combat Evolved occur, so no Master Chief, but all is not lost.

The game appears to be much more story-based than you might think for an RTS. A gorgeous cutscene at the beginning of the game introduces key characters from the series and sets up the story.

Halo Wars makes excellent use of the Xbox controller, especially for an RTS. It's simple and convenient to select and order various troops, and the combat is exciting. Each unit has it's own secondary attack that must recharge after being used. This adds a whole new strategical depth to the genre.

Halo Wars is extremely popular. Not only is a great game, but, well, it's Halo, the Xbox's biggest franchise. It wouldn't make sense to have an Xbox and not have Halo Wars...

Splinter Cell: Conviction

41Vd66ZJbOL. SL75 Games for your 360

After four excellent Splinter Cell games, Conviction will take things to an entirely new level of realism and immersive stealth-action gameplay.

Protagonist Sam Fisher, after the events that took place in Double Agent, is now on the run from the government. This scenario opens up an entirely new style of gameplay. As the police force searches for you, you must blend into crowds and respond properly to certain situations that presents themselves. And due to advanced physics and AI, you can manipulate your environment in ways you never before dreamed of.

An example of this is the "grabbing" system. Anything that you think you should be able to manipulate, you can do. At a demo showing of the game, Sam Fisher snuck past a couple cops in a populated area by causing a ruckus to distract them. How did he do that? He snatched a laptop at a nearby table while a man was using it. It has also been shown that if you are being chased, you can dash inside a room you can block the door with objects and barricade yourself in.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction is yet to be released, but from what has been seen it will be a game worthwhile for the wait.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope

March 10, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Star Ocean is a long-lived and enduring franchise which first appeared all those years ago on the Super Famicom. A sequel followed,Star Ocean: The Second Story, on the 3D Playstation in the late nineties. Over the years, numerous more Star Ocean games have been released, all of which expand on and refine the original action-oriented role-playing game formula. Square Enix have now developed a next gen entry into the pantheon; Star Ocean: The Last Hope, which they promise will take the much loved franchise on a new and fresh direction.

Combat is dealt with in real time, with your enemies actually visible upon the field on vision, with the player able to dip in and control the various characters at their disposal. The Last Hope expands upon the usual formula by allowing use of up to four characters at a time instead of three. Switching between characters is done with the left and right bumpers.

51eedc%2BlVfL. SL160 Star Ocean: The Last Hope

Another new aspect to the game is BEAT, a function utilized to affect the general posture of your character. This can be manipulated to give your character a more passive or agressive stance for example. A completely new feature to the series is this: when an enemy locks onto you and charges you, holding down the B button allows you to use the analog to slip around behind him as he reaches your position, allowing you a chance for a critical strike.

Visually this game is beautiful, as you would expect from a Square Enix title. The special cutscenes have been handled by Visual Works, the studio that helped the create the notoriously detailed and gorgeous cutscenes from the Final Fantasy series. In The Last Hope, vibrant worlds and gorgeous characters form to create a typically engrossing RPG. Gameplay is polished and works well, keeping the flow just right whilst retaining many of the traditional RPG elements you wouldn't want to lose.

Perhaps the best thing about Star Ocean; The Last Hope is that it is intended as a prequel, and so is the perfect place for newcomers to the series to enter into the world of Star Ocean. For veterans of the franchise, there will no doubt be the noltalgia of the earlier games flowing through this title. Star Ocean; The Last Hope could well be the best RPG released thus far for the Xbox 360.

Xbox 360- What You Need To Know

February 18, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

When choosing a console, the choice is usually straightforward, with a single calibre of console to choose from. However, the Xbox 360 is not so simple, with varying packages and models to choose from, it can be a daunting task.

There are currently three different models of Xbox 360 available: Arcade, Pro, and Elite. Each vary significantly in features, options, and most importantly, price. Take a look at the following descriptions to see which would best suit you.

The Arcade model is the cheapest, and at first glance would be viewed as a great deal. However, looking closely will reveal a number of drawbacks. Firstly, the selection of games included aren't so great and are mainly meant for online play, which incurs further cost. Secondly, the console has no internal memory, meaning a memory card is also a necessary buy.

Next we have the pro model, which are supplied with 60GB of internal hard drive memory. In many cases, what it actually really comes down to is memory, and chances are that the Pro is exactly what you need. Not too much, not too little, and at an affordable price. But if you really want to get the most out of the system, there is always the Elite.

Xbox 360 Elite is the highest calibre of model on offer. They are distinguished by their black coating and boast 120GB of internal hard drive memory, for a small price more than the pro.

The spending is not over yet though! You should probably be informed that each Xbox 360 comes with a Silver Xbox Live Membership. With a Silver Membership, you can download demos and content, etc. But if you or the recipient of the Xbox wants to play online games, you will need a Gold Membership. This asks an initial sign up price and then periodic payments to upkeep. This can incur quite a charge as the months go on, and so one must consider the merits of playing online and whether it is worth the price.

Reassuringly expensive? Well you don't need us to tell you just how popular the Xbox 360 is, so they must be doing something right!

Xbox 360 Games worth a look!

January 24, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

The top Xbox 360 Games

Though the Wii is currently winning the console war, there are now more Xbox 360's in more homes than ever before. As the price of Microsoft's console decreases, there has never been a better time to go out and get one. If you have, consider trying out one of these bestsellers;

511hZxe3J2L. SL160 Xbox 360 Games worth a look!

First up is Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. Perhaps you don't remember the bear and rooster's first outing on the N64. Either way, Nuts & Bolts should be a refreshing and unique experience. While the original B-K had you traversing the landscape collecting treasures, Banjo and Kazooie are getting a bit old for that now. So instead, they gather what are called Jiggies, in order to build vehicles in which to quickly navigate the game's large world. The pieces that Banjo would usually be spending all his time searching for are scattered all over the world, but the collection of these pieces is merely optional, and takes a back-seat to vehicle-based missions.

The vehicle creation is easy yet in-depth. The player can build all kinds of land and air contraptions with anything possible from a tank to an airplane. It's even been showcased that you can make a legged robot with springs for feet. The possibilities are endless and all up to you.

51qRZ1TmsxL. SL160 Xbox 360 Games worth a look!

Next up, believe the hype, it's Fable II. The Fable franchise could be described as a more easily accessible version of Elder Scrolls, and features a surprisingly story-oriented main quest, utilizing massive freedom to explore all on your own.

Part of Fable II's runaway appeal, and a testament to the game's long development time is the pet system. Interestingly, your dog will not do whatever you tell it to, and especially not right away or all the time, reflecting the real life unpredictability of animals. You can prompt it to attack, or distract, or point out where something is, but often the dog just hangs out and follows you around.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the pet system is how it incorporates into your morality system. In Fable II, if you make good decisions you become holy, and after a time your appearance could even begin to resemble that of an angel. If you make evil decisions, after a time your character will start to turn dark and demon-like, sometimes developing horn growth. These changes not only effect you, but your pet also. If you are evil, your dog is evil, and vice versa, and your appearances evolve together.

What it comes down to is that Fable II is a fantasy sandbox-style game with plenty of areas to explore and things to do as you interact with the people and monsters of the game's world.

514Ec9fS6GL. SL160 Xbox 360 Games worth a look!

And then, finally, there is Gears of War 2. The GoW franchise is something of a competitor with the PS3's Resistance series by Insomniac. While the first Resistance was hailed for it's solid first-person shooting action, Gears of War has quickly become considered near classic due to it's over-the-top battles and cover system. GoW 2 not only perfects the cover system and allows you to cling more closely and accurately to the environment than before, but improves on the action in almost every conceivable way.

The weapons are more balanced this time around, and have seen some new additions: the flamethrower, the mulcher (a high-power chaingun) and the mortar. Grenades can also now be used as proximity mines and gas grenades.

In Gears of War 2, close-combat is the most intense of all. When you knock an enemy over, you can beat and stomp, snap his neck, or lift him up and use him as a human shield. When two enemies collide with a chainsaw, both must repeatedly press the B button until the other is defeated.

It may sound like a very gruesome game, and it is, but GoW 2 features an optional content filter that will cut out swearing and gore, making the franchise more accessible than ever before.

GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR XBOX 360

January 22, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Getting the Most Out Of Your Xbox 360

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 has now become one of the cheapest consoles available, providing players with arguably the most powerful next generation machine for a comparatively small price. However, there are a few other potential investments to consider once you have the console itself.

If you want to get the most out the console in terms of online gaming and interaction, you should subscribe to Xbox Live's Gold Membership. It's a lot less expensive than it used to be, and the only way to experience the Xbox online. The console generally comes with a free subscription for the Silver Membership, but this offer usually only allows you to buy downloadable content.

The Xbox also pips the competition by securing a wealth of great exclusive game franchises and downloadable content, which are unavailable to other consoles. Some of these games include Banjo-Kazooie, Halo, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Gears of War, and additional levels for games such as Tomb Raider Underworld.

You should also check out the Xbox Live Arcade for downloading some amazing classic games, as well as some great ports. Games such as Duke Nukem 3D, Geometry Wars, Castle Crashers, and especially Braid, are examples of good quality for cheap prices. In order to buy an Xbox Live Arcade game, however, you need points which can be traded for cash.

Next up there’s Netflix. If you hadn't heard already, Netflix movies can now be streamed online and watched on your Xbox 360. For a monthly subscription you can get hours of online streaming and DVD rentals.

Perhaps most importantly, you should consider getting an HDTV. As with the Playstation 3, only through an HDTV can the Xbox's full potential be unleashed. Without one, you only experience a shadow of what the next generation console is capable of. With an HDTV, visuals are sharp and crystal clear with higher, better resolution. The difference is amazing, and should not be missed. The prospect of getting an HDTV may seem like an expensive one, but HDTV's are now less expensive than ever before. There are also some Xbox 360 bundles that come with a good HDTV.

By utilizing the many features and functions available to the Xbox 360 after purchase, you can turn an already impressive console into an amazing all round experience.
